San Francisco Law Schools & Programs San Francisco has three major law programs: San Francisco Law School an evening program; University of San Francisco School of Law which offers part-time and full-time programs; and the Golden Gate University School of Law with advanced law studies in areas such as environmental and intellectual property law. San Francisco has several schools with paralegal studies programs, including San Francisco State University and City College of San Francisco San Francisco is also a good place for studies in law enforcement fields, such as the homeland security program at Sonoma College and the University of San Francisco's International Institute of Criminal Justice Leadership.

Moderate growth is predicted in law and paralegal careers between 2002 and 2012 in the San Francisco area. Careers for lawyers are expected to grow 4.7%, and legal support job should grow 6.4%. The outlook for paralegal jobs is somewhat better, with 9.4% growth expected in that field. Growth for protective service employees is predicted to be 10.8%, with jobs for security guards growing 18.2% and jobs for police and sheriff's patrol officers predicted to increase 3.6%.
